How to receive a massage
Take your time:
Schedule yourself a little extra time to use the sauna  and/or whirlpool prior to your treatment. Warm and relaxed muscles ensure the greatest benefit from your bodywork.
(Un)dress the part:
Unless the service description specifies that your treatment is received clothed, undress and wear just the robe to your treatment. You will be able to take your robe off and cover yourself in privacy. You will be draped with a sheet throughout the service as our therapists respect your modesty. For services that are received clothed, comfortable attire is ideal.
Talk with your therapist:
Before your massage begins, tell your therapist which areas you would like to focus on, and any areas to be avoided. During your massage, let the therapist know if you feel any discomfort, as communication is the key to getting the massage you want.
Relax:
Close your eyes and allow your mind and body to be quiet. Focus on how you feel. Breathe deeply and let tension slip away with each breath. Remember, this is time for you!

A complete head to toe treatment, incorporates the therapeutic qualities of custom blended essential oils that promote detoxification, relaxation and supports the immune system. We offer this treatment as a delightful antidote to stress. |

Signature White Birch Wrap Massage

Our Birch Wrap is designed exclusively for The Spa at The Common Man Inn, by a local herbalist, to represent the history of the property as the birch wood mill it once was. Eight New Hampshire herbs are combined to create a detoxifying elixir that offers many health benefits.
This signature treatment includes three services for total relaxation and revitalization for the body and soul. This treatment begins with a herbal, steamy sauna bath. Once you have entered into the treatment room, heavy warm cotton sheets soaked in our White Birch Herbal elixir are wrapped around the entire body. Layers of warmth are placed on the body while a face and scalp massage is given. Completed with a full body Swedish massage utilizing a custom blended herbal oil. |

What is Self Heating Mud?
